Among other things, drugs such as cocaine and heroin as well as illegal goods and ammunition were ensured. In addition, around 7,000 exams were carried out to combat undeclared work and illegal employment, which led to over 3,000 criminal investigation and fines of around 4.5 million euros. The head of the main customs office Kiel, Robert Dütsch, emphasizes that customs not only ensures company protection, but is also indispensable for securing tax revenue.
