Cologne Haie: Brückmann takes over the gate - new era begins!

Köln, Deutschland - Felix Brückmann becomes the new goalkeeper of the Cologne Haie. The 34-year-old goalkeeper changes from the Adlern Mannheim to the Rhine and has signed a two-year contract. He succeeds Julius Hudacek, who left the sharks to continue his career in Dresden. Together with 24-year-old Tobias Ancicka, Brückmann will form the goalkeeper duo of the Cologne Haie for the coming season of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). KEC sports director Matthias Baldys expressed a positive statement about the new commitment and described the duo as "very strong".

In his previous career, Brückmann completed 377 DEL games. In the last five seasons he played for the Adler Mannheim after being there from 2011 to 2014. In between, from 2014 to 2020 he wore the GRizzlys Wolfsburg jersey. His professional career began at EHC Freiburg, from where he moved to the young eagles in 2006. In the past DEL season, Brückmann came to 23 missions with a catch rate of 89.4 percent.

experiences and success

Felix Brückmann can look back on an impressive international career. He has played a total of 40 games for the German national ice hockey team since 2012 and took part in Beijing in two World Championships and the 2022 Olympics. Last season he lost his regular place to Arno Tiefensee, who achieved a catch rate of 91.2 percent in 29 missions. Despite this challenge, Brückmann is optimistic and is looking forward to the new challenge in Cologne.

The Cologne Haie present Brückmann not only as an experienced player, but also as a support for the team's aspiring talents. He will wear the number 90 and has already emphasized that he is very much looking forward to supporting Cologne fans. The large fan base of the Cologne Haie, who was the first German ice hockey master of the DEL in 1995, will surely be excited about the coming season and how the new goalkeeper duo will beat.

DIE DEL, founded in 1994, is considered the highest ice hockey division in Germany. She replaced the Ice Hockey Bundesliga and leads the league through a specially founded operating company. Most teams in the league wear pet names, similar to the NHL. The record champions of the DEL are the Eisbären Berlin with a total of 8 championship titles, followed by the Adler Mannheim, who appear as seven times.

Felix Brückmann not only brings experience, but also an impressive performance certificate in the Cologne sharks. The fans can hope for an exciting season in which the new goalkeeper claims his place in the squad and possibly contribute to the return of the sharks.
