Leibniz Talents: 24 students awarded 5,700 euros!
Leibniz Universität Hannover, Deutschland - On Tuesday, November 8th, 24 students of Leibniz Universität Hannover with the prestigious price "Leibniz Talents". In a solemn setting in the atrium of the Welfenschloss, Prof. Dr. Julia Gillen, Vice President of Teaching and Studies, the honors with a total value of 5,700 euros. The prices were financed by the Christian Kuhlemann Foundation and aims to make and encourage powerful students and innovative student groups.
The award winners were awarded in two categories. In the first category that honored special academic achievements, Jannis Becktepe from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Frederik Benthin from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Marie Christin Handrup were honored by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. In the second category, which recognizes special commitment within the university, the projects "Hanover Helps (Hanover4Ukraine)", Abdoul Tchadarou from Mechanical Engineering and the group "Uni.te" from the Faculty of Economics.

The excellent work dates from the period from November 2021 to November 2022 and were characterized by above -average performance. The “Leibniz Talents” price replaces the former price of the Presidium and is awarded annually. The awards are endowed with amounts between 200 and 500 euros, which represents additional financial support for the award winners.
A special recognition recently took place in the concert hall of the royal horse stable as part of a award ceremony on December 17, 2024. Here again outstanding students were honored, including Lennart Mathis Becker, master graduate in the industrial engineering course, and Arian Ahlers, young researchers at the Institute for Occupational Science of the Faculty of Economics. Becker received the honor for his master's thesis for "planning dynamically-inductive charging infrastructures for service vehicles", while Ahlers was awarded for his dynamic grounded theory model, which examines the interactions between sustainability and digitization.
