Massive attacks on Kyiv: Ukraine under pressure, Trump warns Germany!

In the night of Friday, June 6, 2025, massive Russian attacks passed across the entire Ukraine, with a special focus on Kiev. According to the Ukrainian authorities, four people were killed. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of the Russian bombers and possible marching air bodies. Several explosions were reported in different cities. In a reaction, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported to shoot 174 drones in various regions, including Crimea.

in connection with the global refugee situation, Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, commented on illegal migration in Germany during a meeting with Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump criticized the bid administration for the entry of "terrible people" to the USA and spoke out against the acceptance of refugees from the Middle East in Germany.

migration numbers in Germany increase

The effects of the Russian attack on Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, are serious. In recent years, the largest escape movement within Europe has occurred since the end of the Second World War. Since the beginning of the war, over 1 million people from Ukraine in Germany have been looking for protection. In 2022, Germany recorded an influx of 2,665,772 people, while 1,203,683 people left the country. The immigration has almost doubled compared to 2021.

Netomigration reached the highest level since the beginning of the records in 1950. People from Ukraine have reached 41.2 percent of the total immigration. Before the war, women with children mainly flew; Only 18.6 percent of adult refugees were men. Ukraine was the main country of origin with 1,097,882.

Ukrainian refugees in Germany

Currently 1,248,210 war refugees from Ukraine are registered (as of February 1, 2025). 97 percent of these refugees are Ukrainian citizens. Many of the refugees have received legal residence permits according to §24 AufenthG. Around 400,000 people who fled from Ukraine no longer stay in Germany, and about 5,000 have died. The monthly migration balance of Ukrainians after and from Germany was between 8,000 and 12,000 people in 2024.

The refugees live mainly in federal states such as North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony and Hesse. Among the registered refugees are around 63 percent women and 37 percent men. In addition, around 361,000 children and adolescents under the age of 18 are registered.

at European level, a total of 4.3 million Ukrainian refugees received protection under the temporary mass protection directive by the end of December 2024. This regulation remains until March 2026. Compared to other countries, Germany does not have the highest refugee recording per inhabitant. Land like the Czech Republic has taken up 1,000 inhabitants almost three times as many refugees.

The situation for third -fashioned people who have fled from Ukraine has intensified, however, since they have not been allowed to enter visa -free since November 2024 and have not received temporary protection status. In Germany, around 39,000 third -fashioned ones are registered that have fled from Ukraine.

In this context, the federal government's migration strategies are also relevant. Federal Foreign Minister Johann WadePhul announced that Germany will fly in 2,500 other Afghans in order to meet the humanitarian needs after the Taliban took over. In the past two years, Germany has granted a total of 48,000 recording commitments for Afghans.
