A year of German-Polish police patrol: Security on the border strengthened!
One year after the founding of the German-Polish police team, the police are taking a positive balance: since June 1, 2024, seven officials-three from Poland and four from Germany-have been patrolling together in the border region between Heringsdorf and Swinemünde. This innovative project was launched to intensify the cooperation between the police authorities from Neubrandenburg and Szczecin after successful joint missions took place in previous years.
The mixed strips support not only in everyday police tasks, but also in Big Events such as the dog sled race Baltic Lights and the days of the sea. The officers are actively working on reducing language barriers and promoting exchange with the population. Intensive training courses before the start of the project ensured that the police were optimally prepared for their tasks. Now the team can be found in Ahlbeck at Swinemünder Chaussee 17, just a stone's throw away from the German-Polish border.
