In a spectacular incident on Rügen, there was a collision between a train of the Rügen Bäderbahn and a car on Wednesday afternoon. The 67-year-old driver of a Ford had apparently made a fatal mistake at an unrestricted level crossing on the beach road in Baabe and had got too far into the track area with his vehicle. The approaching train crashed into the bumper of the car, but fortunately it remained in property damage - nobody was injured.

The police estimate the damage incurred at around 1,000 euros. Both vehicles remained ready to drive, and there were only short -term restrictions in traffic. Another incident that shows how important caution is at level crossings!
