On the night of Tuesday, June 23rd, there was a serious fire in Schwerin-Lankow, which put residents on alert. Around 1 a.m., several cars burned in a garage on Ratzeburger Strasse, which called the fire department to the scene. A parked car initially burst into flames before the fire spread to the garage. Thanks to the quick intervention of the fire brigade, the fire was prevented from spreading to neighboring houses.

While extinguishing the fire, the emergency services found two cars in the garage that had been completely destroyed by the flames. Three other newly damaged cars were also discovered in the area. The total damage is estimated at around 36,000 euros, which underlines the seriousness of the arson. The police immediately launched an investigation as there is suspicion of deliberate arson. As the Ostsee-Zeitung reports, the police looked for possible suspects while extinguishing the fire, but there was no clue. Fortunately, no one was injured.
