Massive accident in rain on the BAB20: 25,000 euros damage!

On June 7, 2025, around 6:45 p.m. on the BAB20 between the Tribsees and Grimmen West junctions, a spectacular traffic accident. A 47-year-old German driver of a Mercedes-Benz and a 33-year-old Syrian driver collided when sudden heavy rain started. In the middle of these dangerous conditions, both drivers lost control of their vehicles, which turned the cars several times and rammed both the middle protection and the protection outskin on the right side of the road.

Surprisingly, all occupants, including two children, remained unharmed, although the little ones were taken to the hospital in Stralsund as a precaution. The vehicles, on the other hand, were total loss - the estimated property damage amounts to around 25,000 euros. The BAB20 had to be completely blocked for around an hour during the accident recording and the rescue of the cars that were no longer ready to drive. A large contingent of the police, fire brigades and emergency services was on site to quickly master the situation.
