Telekom expands network in the district: 99% of households now covered!
There is exciting news for all technology enthusiasts and mobile phone users in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district! Telekom has significantly upgraded its network in the last few weeks and expanded three mobile phone locations with the latest 4G and 5G technology. Where exactly did this happen? At the locations between Boizenburg and Hagenow near Vellahn, in Dammereez near Dersekow and along the L 106 between Lübtheen and Dömitz in the town of Vielank.
Now the citizens can be happy: A full 93 percent of the district area now has mobile phone coverage! 99 percent of households even have access to fast mobile communications. These expansion measures will particularly benefit commuters along the important railway line between Berlin and Hamburg.
Another advantage of the new technology is the support of modern emergency call and warning systems. During emergency calls, Advanced Mobile Location (AML) technology automatically transmits the caller's location to the rescue control center, which can greatly speed up rescue in critical situations. In addition, the cell broadcast system informs citizens in the affected radio cell about danger reports directly on their cell phone.
Outlook and construction plans
With a total of 174 mobile phone locations in the district, Telekom is aiming for further massive expansion over the next three years. A total of 73 new locations are to be created - not without the necessary cooperation with municipalities and property owners, who must be provided with the rental of space. The rental agreements promise long-term, local compensation. In order to implement the new locations, Telekom is working with Deutsche Funkturm, which is building the technical systems.
The expansion of mobile networks and especially the introduction of 5G are more than just a trend. This fifth generation of mobile communications means faster data transfer and lower delays, which significantly improves the use of Internet services. As statistics show, a network of over 49,000 5G base stations is already being built in Germany. This means that around 92.5 percent of the country and 98 percent of households are covered by 5G. Among the mobile phone providers, Deutsche Telekom is in the lead here, followed by Vodafone and Telefonica.
But what exactly does this mean for consumers? The advantages of 5G are numerous: faster and more stable internet connections, better streaming, even the use of virtual and augmented reality is promoted! For industry, this technology offers the opportunity to make production processes more efficient and guarantee instant data transfers - a real win-win situation for everyone involved.
