Mareen Buchholz: Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 inspires in Grimmen!
On June 30, 2025, Mareen Buchholz from Grimmen was named Corporate Personality of the Year in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This honor took place as part of a celebratory award ceremony in Grabow, in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. Economics Minister Wolfgang Blank presented the award on behalf of the state's leading business associations and chambers and highlighted Buchholz's outstanding contribution to the regional economy, especially in the area of care and support.
Buchholz, who founded the “Baltic Sea Coast Nursing Team” in 2011 and now heads the Therapie- und Pflegehaus GmbH in Grimmen, now employs around 60 people. Her work was already recognized in 2024 when she was named “Woman of the Year” by the Vorpommern-Rügen district. Last February she actively addressed the topic of care and initiated the first round table to improve care conditions in Grimmen, which was very well received.
Care in a crisis
Representatives of organizations such as Caritas, relief organizations and the Red Cross emphasized the need for improved cooperation in order to be able to respond appropriately to the challenges in the care industry. The social welfare association is also active in the district and is planning a project to implement the ELGA system for care documentation in order to make better use of digital data.

The survey also showed that 75% of those surveyed consider reducing bureaucracy to be the most important issue for the future. Innovative approaches could offer nursing new opportunities and significantly improve working conditions.
