Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remains neutral in the summer holiday dispute!
Germany's holiday regulations are simmering! While the summer holidays for 2025 to 2030 have already been set, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remains remarkably passive in the debate about holiday times. Education State Secretary Tom Divorce (Die Linke) has made it clear that the federal state will not actively participate in the disputes between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Loud n-tv he refers to the upcoming education ministers' conference, which serves as a platform for further discussions. It is particularly worth mentioning that Education Minister Simone Oldenburg (Die Linke) is currently ill, which does not make the situation any easier.
The determination of the summer holidays was decided by the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) under the presidency of Britta Ernst, Brandenburg's Minister of Education. The aim of the regulation is to create planning security for schools, families and the tourism industry. A rolling system is intended to help reduce traffic loads during the holidays. Details about the summer holiday rules from 2025 to 2030 can be found in the official announcement from the KMK here can be called.
