Eight new rescue vehicles for the lake district – safety is gaining momentum!
In the Mecklenburg Lake District, emergency care is being taken to a new level. The district has decided to purchase eight new vehicles for the emergency services. An investment of around 1.3 million euros will not only significantly improve the quality but also the efficiency of medical care in the region. That reports NDR.
Four of these new emergency medical vehicles will be put into service at the Neustrelitz, Waren, Friedland and Malchin rescue stations. The special highlight: Neustrelitz Nord is receiving a special vehicle that not only serves as a mobile command center, but is also used in major accidents such as bus accidents.
Efficient equipment for rescue
The new vehicles are not only new, but also extremely practical. Loud wir-sind-mueritzer.de The price for a fully equipped emergency medical vehicle is around 230,000 euros. Around 42 percent of these costs, i.e. around 96,000 euros, go to medical devices and modern IT technology. These expenses are refinanced by the health insurance companies, which represents an important relief for the district.
The handover of the emergency medical vehicles took place on the premises of the fire department's technical headquarters in Neuendorf. There was also reason to be happy about the services of the various rescue organizations: Neubrandenburg professional fire brigade, DRK Kreisverband Demmin e.V., Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. and Malteser Hilfedienst gGmbH each received a vehicle to increase operational readiness. Thomas Müller, the second deputy of the district administrator, was proud of the new additions and the associated improvement in emergency services.
A look into the future of the rescue fleet
The Mecklenburg Lake District's own operation, responsible for vehicle procurement and operation of the ambulances, also operates the integrated control center and ensures the coordination of qualified patient transport. Further purchases are planned for the future: a further six emergency medical vehicles and a special vehicle for operations management are to be handed over by the end of July. In addition, six new ambulances are planned for the end of summer, with a further delivery in March 2026.
The new vehicles not only contribute to effective emergency management, but are also part of a well-thought-out standardized concept to ensure a uniform and sustainable rescue fleet. Users can be happy because the new vehicles in the rescue fleet come with a uniform design and promise reliable and up-to-date medical care.
Emergency numbers in an emergency
It is also important for citizens in the region to be well informed. The most important emergency numbers, such as those for the fire department (112), police (110) and the statutory health insurance emergency service (116117), should always be at hand. This means that in an emergency you can react quickly and help can be organised.
The recent progress in the emergency services in the Mecklenburg Lake District is a clear sign that the region is actively working to improve emergency medical care and has a good hand in equipping the emergency services. Residents can therefore look forward to improved emergency care – for more safety in the lake district!
