Series of burglaries in the Lake District: How thieves strike unnoticed!
What's going on in the Mecklenburg Lake District? Break-ins and attempted break-ins are currently increasing there, especially during the day. A worrying trend that the Röbel police are keeping a close eye on. Reports have already been filed in two recorded incidents in the region, specifically in Jürgenshof near Alt Schwerin. There were also two further incidents in Roez near Malchow, which are now being investigated by the authorities. As nordkurier.de reports, the perpetrators are apparently not squeamish and also strike in the evening.
On Thursday evening, unknown persons broke into a single-family home in the “Seeblick” area between 7:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. According to initial estimates, the property damage amounts to around 2,000 euros, but exactly which items were stolen is still unclear. There was also a failed attempt to break into another house in the same neighborhood. Evidence suggests that the perpetrators had previously scouted the area to determine the absence of the residents.
Together against the series of burglaries
The police are calling on citizens to be vigilant. Suspicious people, vehicles or noises should be closely monitored over the next few days. The investigators are also interested in information about whether there were any observations that could point to the perpetrators in advance. In view of the increased number of burglaries along Federal Highway 192, a connection between these incidents and the most recently reported burglaries in the area is also being examined.
The police ask anyone who notices anything suspicious to contact them on 039931 / 848224 or online. When it comes to burglary protection, Police Chief Inspector Torsten Dowe is also available. He can be contacted on 0395 / 55825134 Monday to Friday during the day to clarify questions and possibly give helpful tips.
The situation is serious and requires the cooperation of neighbors. An attentive environment can make a crucial difference in preventing these break-ins. Stay alert!
