Experienced Italian Fabio Bartolone becomes the new trainer in Neustrelitz!
A breath of fresh air is blowing through the PSV Neustrelitz volleyball department: Italian coach Fabio Bartolone is taking over the management of the team in the 2nd Bundesliga. The 60-year-old, who comes from the picturesque city of Catania, brings over 30 years of experience in volleyball, both as a player and as a coach. Before his new role, he was sports director of a men's club in Italy and looked after the women's team at TV Cloppenburg in Germany. The decision for Bartolone shows that the club relies on continuity and expertise.
“It is an honor to coach the team,” said Bartolone enthusiastically about his new challenge. There is great anticipation for the city and the people in Neustrelitz. His predecessor Stefan Meingast had only spent one season as coach, meaning Bartolone now has the opportunity to usher in a new era.
Start into the new season
The season begins for PSV Neustrelitz with three home games in a row. On September 13th we will face the team from Bocholt, followed by Mondorf on September 20th and finally Schüttorf on September 27th. This series of games will be crucial in laying the foundation for a successful season and gaining the support of the home fans.
The club management is proud of Bartolone's commitment. The experienced trainer is considered a passionate athlete who works on his skills every day. His coaching experience in Italy, Austria and Germany will help him to optimally prepare the team for the challenges ahead. In Neustrelitz he can also rely on local commitment and contribute his knowledge and skills to the development of the players.
Insights into coaching life
Bartolone is not only active as a trainer. He is also a qualified sports scientist and discovered his passion for volleyball at the age of 15. With a history that extends to the Italian 2nd League, he brings a wealth of knowledge and tactical understanding. “The task in Neustrelitz really appeals to me and I’m ready to give it my all,” said Bartolone. This positive attitude will certainly spread to his players and strengthen the team dynamic.
