First naturist hiking trail opened in MV: Naked through nature!

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania there is now a special attraction for all nature and naturist culture fans. The region's first nudist hiking trail was opened at the picturesque Rätzsee, not far from Mirow. Not only is this a cause for celebration for the local nudist community, but it also marks a new trend in hiking.

The mayor of the municipality of Wustrow, Steffen Franz, and Martin Löser, operator of the naturist campsite, gave the official starting signal for the approximately three kilometer long hiking trail. This is not intended exclusively for naked hikers. Clothed visitors are also welcome, but should note that they may encounter naked people. This initiative comes from the campsite and aims to create a safe space for naturist enthusiasts like the Baltic Sea newspaper reported.

Naked hiking as a new trend sport

Nude hiking has become a popular activity within the nudist movement in recent years. The opening of the path at Rätzsee is evidence of the increasing trend. There are currently only two other nude hiking trails in Germany, namely in the Lüneburg Heath and the Harz Mountains. Martin Löser describes this form of hiking as “a kind of trend sport” and emphasizes that it is about enjoying the experience of nature in a new, unconventional way. According to a report by the Black Forest messenger Nude hiking has been spreading in the nudist scene for years.

So now might be the time for nature lovers to try their hand at casual hiking. The combination of exercise and the free feeling in nature is found liberating by many participants. Since the region's meadows and forests offer an inviting backdrop, the hiking trail at Rätzsee could soon become a hotspot for nudist lovers.

The path is intended to serve as an inviting space in which naked and clothed hikers can equally relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
