With an installed capacity of 11.5 MWp, the solar park generates around 13 gigawatt hours of electricity annually - enough to supply around 3,600 households in Germany with clean energy. The Kentzlin solar park was acquired in 2023 and development work was completed during the year. IBC Solar was recruited as a partner for engineering, procurement and construction and was also responsible for ensuring that the project was completed on time. This commissioning not only represents a milestone in the MET Group's expansion strategy, but also strengthens its presence in the German renewable energy market, where the company is already active in the natural gas and electricity business.
Focus on renewable energy
The entry into the field of renewable energies is part of the MET Group's comprehensive expansion strategy in Germany. The company's goal is to build a portfolio with an installed capacity of 2 gigawatts by 2026. Already in 2022, MET Group successfully entered renewable markets in Spain, Italy, Poland and Romania. The basis for this expansion is strengthened not only by the commissioning of the solar park, but also by the consolidation of its revenues, which had amounted to 17.9 billion euros in 2024, and the fact that the company is active in 17 countries, including 32 national gas markets and 44 international trading centers, as reported by MET Group reported.
