The volleyball world has a new strong man on the sidelines in Neustrelitz: Fabio Bartolone is introduced as coach of PSV Neustrelitz. The native of Catania, Italy, who can look back on an impressive career with over 30 years of experience in volleyball, succeeds Stefan Meingast. Meingast only worked as coach for one season, but with Bartolone the club is now hoping for long-term positive development. “It's an honor to coach this team,” said the 60-year-old enthusiastically and promised to look forward not only to the sporting challenges, but also to being together in the city and with the fans Northern Courier.
Bartolone brings not only passion but also extensive international experience. He has worked as a coach in Italy and Germany and was most recently sports director of a men's club in Italy and coach of the women's team at TV Cloppenburg in Germany. In his opinion, volleyball is more than just a game, it is his life. With this philosophy he would like to support PSV Neustrelitz's squad planning, which has now been completed. Preparations for the 2025/26 season can now begin.
The coming challenges
The new season begins for PSV Neustrelitz with three home games in the Strelitzhalle. On September 13th the team will play against TuB Bocholt, followed by encounters with Mondorf on September 20th and Schüttorf on September 27th. Bartolone is confident that he and his new team will successfully overcome the challenges of the season. “We have to prepare well and form a strong team,” the coach continued.
