Summer, sun, festivals: Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is celebrating!
Summer has begun and it's getting colorful and loud again in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania! Numerous music and cultural festivals are coming up that not only provide entertainment, but also promote creative exchange. The first highlights have already taken place, to be precise, the “Immergut” festival in Neustrelitz, which attracted many music lovers at the end of May.
But that's just the beginning. The next big event that will transform the region into a vibrant backdrop is the legendary one “Fusion” festival, which will be celebrated from June 25th to 29th at the former military airfield in Lärz. This year the festival, which is celebrating its 26th anniversary, is once again expecting a variety of artists, DJs, readings and theater performances. Last year around 79,000 visitors enjoyed the atmosphere. Anyone who has ever experienced the festival knows that it is a unique experience every year.
Diverse festivals for every taste
Another highlight follows shortly after the merger: This “Airbeat One” festival in Neustadt-Glewe from July 9th to 13th. International DJs like Armin van Buuren and Boris Brejcha perform here. With an impressive main stage of around 180 meters, up to 65,000 guests are expected to dance to the beats every day.
That will happen in August “Pangea Festival” in Pütnitz an der See proudly present the different facets of pop, hip-hop and electronic music. The days from August 7th to 10th are planned not only for music fans, but also for those interested in culture and sports, with concentrated workshops and performances by artists such as Zartmann and Roy Bianco & the Abbrunzati Boys. With around 15,000 visitors last year, the festival has already made a name for itself.
A festival against extremism
This is a completely different but equally important event “Jamel rocks the forester” -Festival that will be held on August 22nd and 23rd. This festival is clearly against right-wing extremism and has been attracting more and more people since it was founded in Jamel (municipality of Gägelow) in 2007. The line-up remains secret until the event, the tickets are in high demand - only 3,500 are available each day, with over 23,000 requests recently.
This marks the end of the summer festival circuit “Indian Spirit”, which takes place in Eldena from August 27th to September 1st. As the largest psytrance festival in Germany, it offers a mix of music, yoga courses and workshops.
In addition to these large events, there are of course also smaller but fine festivals. These include this “Roxsa Festival” in Bad Sülze and that “3000 Degrees Festival” in the Feldberg lake landscape. Another highlight is the “Zappanale” in Bad Doberan, which takes place from July 17th to 20th and attracts fans of rock legend Frank Zappa.
The festivals in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania represent diversity and a strong sense of community. Whether music, art or culture – everyone gets their money’s worth here. Now all you have to do is secure your tickets and prepare for unforgettable summer moments!
