New training location: Naval officers start in Parow!

A new section in the training of naval officers begins: For the first time, the basic training of future officer candidates in Parow, not far from Stralsund. From September 1, 2025, up to 300 candidates and candidates at the Marine Technology School (MTS) will take their first steps into military life. This will change the training from the Mürwik naval school in Flensburg and the naval non -commissioned officer school in Plön. This decision was largely motivated by the changeover of the officer training from one to two years to create more space for the increasing number of apprentices who are interested in a career at the Navy.

currently, 246 candidates have already registered, with an increase awaited until the start of training in September. The age mix is ​​interesting: two thirds of the newcomers are between 17 and 21 years old, while the proportion of women is 15 percent. This shows that interest in a solid basic training program in the Navy is still very popular.

Day of the Bundeswehr in Stralsund
