Klein Trebbow Fire Department celebrates 100 years in a big parade!

Anniversaries are special occasions that represent not only a remembrance but also a celebration of commitment and community. The Klein Trebbow Volunteer Fire Department proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary on June 14, 2025. The festival, which required weeks of preparation by the fire department, community and local clubs, was a joyful event with deep roots in the community. The place was festively decorated and the children from the daycare center had brilliantly made cardboard fire engines as creative table decorations. Thanks to generous donations from residents, businesses and the community, the event was able to be celebrated in full.

The day began with an impressive parade, led by the 89 comrades from the Klein Trebbow fire department, supported by 13 other fire departments. Both historical and modern emergency vehicles were exhibited on the fairground, which caused great amazement. The Pegasus Drummers from Gadebusch provided musical entertainment, supported by TUK Tief- und Kulturbau GmbH Schwerin. Mayor Dr. Anne Ringlepp and other important guests acknowledged the importance of the fire department in their speeches and honored their comrades with promotions.

A colorful program for young and old

The festival offered an entertaining program for the entire family. Line dancing, a fire engine race led by children, face painting, bouncy castles and the unique fire house of the Brüsewitz fire department were among the highlights. The hunting horn blowing and a trophy exhibition by the Groß Trebbow hunting association also thrilled visitors. The physical well-being was well taken care of: a grill, suckling pig and a rich cake buffet invited guests to feast, while a large star tent provided the community of Seehof with welcome shade.

The finale was a rousing dance event that lasted until the early hours of the morning, led by DJs Benny and David. The community of Klein Trebbow expressed their thanks and their best wishes for the fire department - may cohesion and success remain top priority in the future.

Think outside the box

Another exciting anniversary is just around the corner, as the Klein Kreutz Volunteer Fire Department will also thank you for a whole century of existence on August 24th and 25th, 2024. The celebrations begin with a parade from the SG Grün-Weiß sports field to the fire station, where Mayor Steffen Scheller and Alderman Thomas Barz will welcome the guests. The new LF 10 emergency vehicle is blessed while historical technology is presented. Here and there, the solidarity of the fire departments in the region is evident.

The festival of the Sonneberg Volunteer Fire Department, which will celebrate its 175th anniversary on June 21, 2025, will be similarly big. The event will take place at various locations, including the festival lawn next to the town hall. The focus is not only on the Festkommers, but also on a technology show and demonstration exercises that bring the everyday life and challenges of the fire departments closer to the citizens.

Overall, these anniversaries are a strong sign of how important the fire department is in community structures. They stand for tradition, cohesion and the tireless commitment that not only protects their own communities, but also symbolizes the courage to help in times of need.
