But that's not all. A “Heimatcheck” is also carried out in East Frisia to find out how satisfied the citizens are with their cities and municipalities. This survey includes similar subject areas as the Schweriner Volkszeitung and runs until April 27th. Citizens can express their opinion on security, quality of life, cleanliness and child -friendliness. It is a joint project of several local newspapers, supported by EWE and the East Frisian Brandkasse. Here, too, profits are waiting for the participants. Ostfriesischer Kurier emphasizes that the opinions of the citizens are collected in order to obtain a comprehensive mood.

The numbers speak for themselves: Cities recognized in Germany participate in coordinated surveys on the quality of life in order to gain a better understanding of the respective living conditions. 500 randomly selected people per city, including from Aachen, Berlin and Munich, are asked about quality of life. The focus is on a comparison of the results in order to work out the strengths and weaknesses of the different regions. City test statistics explains the methodology that has had the goal of evaluating the life situation in German cities since 2004.
