Dance project in Gadebusch: Giving young talents a voice on stage!
An exciting new community dance project, which has the motto “Be human! – human rights in motion”, is casting its shadow. In Gadebusch, young talents should be actively brought onto the stage, not just as spectators, but as creative actors. The performance will take place in the Ernst Barlach Theater Güstrow in June 2026, a highlight for everyone involved.
The casting for interested participants will take place on November 21, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the FreiRaum children's and youth meeting place. All young people between the ages of 9 and 20 are welcome in this project - regardless of their previous knowledge of dance. Even people with disabilities are invited to take part, which underlines the inclusive nature of the project. If you think that this is only for the experienced, you are wrong: dance knowledge is not necessary!
Get-to-know-you workshops and other dates
To make it easier to get started with the dance project, two introductory workshops are planned for November 22nd and 23rd, 2025. These events allow young dancers to immerse themselves in the world of movement and gain their first experiences. Overall, workshops are also planned for the months of January to May 2026, so that participants have the opportunity to continuously work on their skills.
The project is implemented in close cooperation between the MV State Working Group on Dance, the FreiRaum children's and youth club and the Ernst-Barlach-Theater Güstrow. The training will take place in FreiRaum in Gadebusch. This creates a space in which creativity and community can flourish.
Source of inspiration and support
The inspiration for this exciting project is the musical work “Human” by Helge Burggrabe, which, together with the values of the UN Charter of Human Rights, forms the foundation for the creative work. The aim is to develop moving scenes and choreographies that deal with the essential question of being human. The project is supported by the Human International Culture Project and the “tanz + theater make strong” program of the Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts, and thanks to funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, its implementation can be secured in the long term.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in this exciting project can contact us directly via email or WhatsApp. The team behind the project is looking forward to numerous creative minds and the exchange.
This project is not an isolated case, but part of a larger network in the dance scene. The TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund program, for example, promotes the art form of dance structurally and artistically in order to enable both long-term collaborations and innovative development concepts. This promotes the diversity and sustainability of dance in Germany, as confirmed by the cultural organization Bureau Ritter and the umbrella organization Dance Germany.
Considering all of these exciting possibilities, the opportunities that this dance project offers for the young people in Gadebusch are unique. So let's go: clear the stage for the next generation of dancers!
