But the incident was not the only setback that day. Already on July 9, 2025, also on the A20 near Strasburg, two further accidents occurred, also caused by aquaplaning. According to information from Press portal A 37-year-old driver drove his VW Passat off the road at around 6:25 p.m. He collided with a guard rail and an emergency call box and was also slightly injured. His vehicle had to be classified as no longer drivable, which resulted in total damage of around 30,000 euros.
At the same time, a 39-year-old driver driving a VW Golf was also affected. His accident occurred almost at the same time and meant that his vehicle was also no longer drivable. The total damage from the two accidents amounted to an impressive 50,000 euros, and the A20 was only passable via the left lane for around three hours.
