On August 17, 2025, the Beach Royals Düsseldorf made history again with their triumph over the Rostock Robben in the final of the German Beach Soccer League. It was the third title for the team, which already won the championship title in 2021 and 2022. After a previous cup victory just six weeks ago, the Dusseldorf team will go down in the history books with a well-deserved double. This championship certainly put the region in a celebratory mood!
The final took place in Warnemünde and is an exciting repeat of the 2019 final. From the start, Düsseldorf showed that they were willing to bring home the title. Christian Biermann scored the first goal in the 8th minute and put the Beach Royals in the lead. In the 14th minute, Oliver Romrig added and increased the score to 2-0. The Rostock Robben, who missed out on their sixth title with this defeat, managed to equalize before half-time: Christoph Türk (16th) and Phil Skeip (19th) successfully contributed to the turnaround.
The exciting course of the game
After a thrilling first third in which the tension was palpable, Philipp Borer managed to put the Beach Royals in the lead again in the 20th minute. The nerves grew because both teams knew that the next few minutes would be crucial. Christian Biermann, however, left no stone unturned in the last minute and increased the score to 4:2, which secured the final victory for Düsseldorf.
In the “small final” the Bavaria Beach Bazis secured third place with a remarkable 6-4 win against Real Münster. Despite being 3-1 down, they turned the game around thanks to braces from Julian Franz and Axel Rutterschmidt, which showed what it means to never give up.
A look at the future
The Beach Royals Düsseldorf have not only consolidated their place at the top of the German Beach Soccer League, but have also shown that they can overcome challenges with team spirit and determination. Enthusiasm for beach soccer is growing and this success should provide additional support next season, both among players and fans.
