The anticipation of the new season is palpable in Rostock. The F.C. Hansa Rostock won the third test in preparation for the 3rd league last Sunday with a 3-2 win against Greifswalder FC. After a solid first half with goals from Bennet Schulz and Andreas Voglsammer as well as another goal from Dario Gebuhr after the break, the team can look forward to the next few weeks with optimism.
The new season format brings with it some exciting encounters. The official schedule of the 3rd league is taking shape. The first matchday is on August 2nd and 3rd against FC Erzgebirge Aue. In the first home game, Rostock will host Waldhof Mannheim. The last games before the winter break are scheduled for the home game against 1. FC Saarbrücken from December 19th to 21st. The second half of the season starts between January 16th and 18th, 2026, the last matchday will take place on May 16th, 2026.
Intensive preparation for the new season
The time until the start of the season is used intensively. Hansa Rostock has already published its summer timetable. The first public training date took place on June 23, 2025, and the team is currently preparing at the training camp in Neuruppin, which lasts from July 7 to 13, 2025. On July 12th they will meet VSG Altglienicke in the test.
There are also some highlights for the fans. A fan and family day will take place at the Ostseestadion on July 19, 2025, followed by a friendly against Aston Villa. The next day the team competes against Phönix Lübeck. These friendlies not only provide the team with a valuable opportunity to prepare, but are also a great way for fans to cheer on their team.
Social commitment in focus
The social commitment that Hansa Rostock is showing this season is particularly remarkable. They support the hospice at the Südstadt Clinic by having the players wear the logo on their sleeves during test matches. In addition, the jerseys from the test matches will be auctioned off to benefit the hospice, which strengthens the connection to the community and promotes a good cause.
In the coming season, Hansa Rostock will cause a sensation not only on the pitch but also off it. Whether in the fight for promotion or in the social area - the team has a good knack for doing brilliantly in both areas. This will be an exciting season!
The first games are just around the corner and fans can look forward to exciting months. How the team will perform and whether they can achieve their goals remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: football is as alive as ever in Rostock.
