Legendary youth club Pablo Neruda is getting a new building for the future!

Maxim-Gorki-Straße 67, 18106 Rostock, Deutschland - A very special joy for the Rostock youth: The legendary youth club "Pablo Neruda" celebrated its topping -out ceremony today, on July 11, 2025. The new building, which is being built at Maxim-Gorki-Straße 67, will not only upgrade the existing infrastructure, but will also become a real meeting point for the young people in the city. Here a space is created that enables both leisure and education and thus contributes to the positive development of young people.

In the middle of the comprehensive renovation project, the youth club is integrated into a fully redesigned building that also offers space for the after -school care center "de Ostseegörn" and a specialist high school of the vocational school. According to the plans, the new premises will be available for a total of 250 students, while the after -school care center offers space for 220 children. "We want to offer all young people a barrier -free and inclusive culture," explains the spokesman for the speech, youth living Hansestadt Rostock e.V.

extensive renovation measures

The project provides for a general renovation of the school building, in which the entire area is redesigned and modernized. Important measures are the renewal of the electrical installations, the heating and ventilation systems and the sanitary area. In addition, an elevator is installed that enables barrier -free access. The free facilities are also redesigned so that the use becomes pleasant and inviting for all users.

For the renovation, impressive 15 million euros are planned, and more than half of this sum, 8.8 million euros, are from funding. This includes grants from the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE) and funds from the joint task to improve the regional economic structure (GRW) for the vocational school.

The importance of education and support

Education and social participation are the central goals of this project. As the German Voluntary Portal portal reports, access to early support for families with children is crucial in order to create equal opportunities. In this sense, the youth club will not only offer leisure opportunities, but also support educational offers and projects against child poverty.

in Rostock it becomes clear that the new building is more than just a building. This creates a social hub where young people not only offer a retreat, but also opportunities for personal and social development. The coordinated planning and consistent implementation of these measures show that the city responds to the needs of its young citizens and wants to make a difference.

While the construction work is expected to continue until 2027, it is already noticeable: future users are looking forward to a place that invites you to creative and joint work and promotes the coexistence of children, young people and families.

It seems that those responsible have proven a good hand for a project that will strengthen social cohesion in Rostock. The anticipation for the new youth club could not be greater, and at today's topping -out ceremony you can already see the enthusiasm in the eyes of the participants.
