50 years of the Martin Luther Academy: Alumni celebrate a big class reunion!

In a heartwarming ceremony, the Martin Luther Academy recently marked a very special anniversary: the 50th class reunion of the graduating class of 1975 took place from September 19th to 21st, 2025. The former students from different ranks came together to reminisce.

The participants clearly enjoyed the reunion. Personalities such as Cindy Fluegge Dretske and Judi Paske Case sat in the front row, while a number of other graduates, including Kathy Zimmermann Mauer and Robin Meers Schrupp, enriched the event. Even in the back rows there were old acquaintances like Doug Stellick and Dave Huebner, who exchanged lively conversations about the past.

Active together for a good cause

Another event that brings the local community together is the 11th Annual New Ulm Diabetes Walk. This will take place on Saturday, October 4th at Flandrau State Park and will attract many participants running for an important cause. Organizing this event is part of an effort to raise awareness of diabetes and provide support for those affected. One can find out more details about this and other related activities at the disposal of diabetes.org.

Additionally, the annual Brown County Republican “Fun” raiser will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at the Sleepy Eye Event Center. This gathering provides a platform for the community to exchange ideas with each other while supporting local initiatives.
