Company casting in Boizenburg: Students discover their professional future!

The exciting project “Company Casting – Choose Your Future” starts on July 5, 2025 at the “Rudolf Tarnow” regional school in Boizenburg. This innovative project aims to introduce students from the 7th grade into the professional world at an early stage. Great importance is attached to safe orientation in order to avoid dropping out of training and changing studies from the outset. Because like that Northern Courier reports, the students experience real working environments, can ask questions and have direct conversations with companies.

The concept involves small groups of a maximum of six students visiting two different companies in one morning. The young people create company profiles and observe everyday work up close. This hands-on experience not only gives them new insights into careers they had not previously considered, but also provides positive feedback, such as the diversity of career fields. The Jessenitzer Training and Further Education Association e.V. has been running this project since the 2015/2016 school year and can count on steadily growing participation.

Growing participation and support

In the 2024/2025 school year, more than 2,700 students are already taking part in this groundbreaking project. This shows how high the interest in early career guidance is. The program is generously supported by the Employment Agency, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the European Social Fund (ESF+). This support is crucial for the sustainable bringing together of students and companies and helps to ease the transition from school to working life.

But company casting is only part of a larger whole. In Germany, the importance of well-thought-out career orientation has been recognized for years and is generating growing interest. The transition to training is particularly challenging for refugee young people. An evaluation of the “Career Orientation for Immigrants (BOF)” program shows that the networking of offers is crucial for success. As the BWP As noted, many young refugees initially strive for academic goals, which often endangers their realistic prospects.

Integration through practical offers

The BOFplus program for example, offers targeted support with practical career orientation courses and integrated language lessons to give participants the opportunity to try out different careers in an educational institution. Here they not only learn technical language and specialist knowledge, but also take part in operational phases in which they can apply their knowledge in practice. Such programs are essential to pave the way for young people's professional future and to promote their integration into the labor market.

In conclusion, it can be said that early career orientation is a key to a successful transition into the professional world. The combination of projects such as company casting and comprehensive support for refugee young people ensures that all students have the best chance of a flourishing professional future. Ultimately, it is important to recognize the diversity of the professional world and to promote the individual talents of young people in the best possible way.
