On the night of Sunday, June 29, 2025, the police and the Schwerin professional fire brigade was called for a fire in the Lankow district. Around 10:20 p.m., a car that was parked in front of a garage gate on Ratzeburger Straße was on fire for an unknown cause. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle and reached the garage door. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the total damage amounts to around 3,500 euros. Interestingly, a similar incident occurred in the same garage complex on June 24, 2025. Although the situation and the circumstances of the first fire remain unclear, the investigators from the Schwerin criminal police have already received the investigation into suspected serious arson.
