Mühlen Eichsen, Deutschland - The construction of the new day care center in Mühlen Eichsen has reached the last trains. As Nordkurier will offer space for 88 primary school children, which are looked after in four hearing rooms. There were already special insights into the project at the architecture day, where architect Jörg Strothotte presented the design concept. The horn rooms are laid out in the quiet rear part of the building to create a pleasant learning and game environment.

In addition to the group rooms, the new after-school building includes an administrative and kitchen area as well as versatile usable premises for theater, sport and creative jobs. Large glass fronts ensure a bright ambience, while modern screens contribute to shading. The construction can be summarized as a skeletal building made of wood, with plasterboard and OSB panels being used for cladding. In order to create a stable basis, a 30 cm thick concrete sole was built and the building was anchored on 42 piles in the goal -tired surface.

These funds come from the European Agricultural Fund for the development of rural areas (ELER) and cover 75 percent of the eligible costs. Overall, the municipality will invest around 2.52 million euros in the new building.

The new day care center is operated by the Grevesmühlen Diakonie. While the construction work is progressing, after -school care is currently housed in containers, as there is a lack of necessary rooms at the schools concerned. The official handover of the new building is planned for September 16 and the anticipation for the new premises is growing.

A photovoltaic system is also planned on the roof. This shows that the new building should not only meet the needs of the community, but also set environmentally friendly standards.
