Greifswald celebrates: Fischerfest 2025 with free admission and spectacle!

A highlight of the Region is just around the corner! From July 18 to 2025, Greifswald-Wieck transformed into a true festival of the senses: the fishing festival Gaffelig. For the first time, visitors await an admission that does not cost a cent-a gift from the city on the occasion of their 775th anniversary. This only lets the anticipation for the celebrations rise more.

Let's start on Friday, July 18, at 12 p.m. with a colorful program. The official opening takes place in the evening at 8 p.m. in the Eldena lido. During the festival it will be quite alive. A special highlight awaits the guests on Friday evening: At 10:30 p.m., a fascinating fireworks called "Ryck in Flames" will be ignited, accompanied by an impressive pyrotechnics show, lasers and music.

On the festival site in Wieck you will hardly be able to decide where to look first! The whole family can look forward to numerous rides: from a children's carousel to the car scooter to the 40 meter high pirate slide and the impressive ferris wheel. In addition, there is a children's country with bouncy castles, face painting and a balloon clown, so that even the little ones get their money's worth.

The highlight of the festival is the Gaffeligg on Saturday, where around 40 traditional sailors and modern yachts are expected. These impressive ships will pass the Wiecker bridge on Saturday and present it expertly. The Maritime Flair is perfectly complemented by the MS "Stubnitz", which offers tours through the Bodden. For the adventurous, there are also sporting competitions such as Ryckhangeln, in which the participants have to cross the Ryck on a plastic rope - a real test of courage!

entertainment and mood on three stages

Musically, the festival will be entertained on three stages. On Friday there is a line dance party and DJ sounds in the Eldena lido. On Saturday, NDR moderators, Sebastian Hämer and the Skyline party band are on the program, while Sunday closes with the Greifswald wind orchestra and the duo Max Raabe. A varied music program is also offered on the village square in Wieck. There is live music, DJ acts and on Sunday a service in the car scooter.
