District league 2025/26: Exciting start to the season for local football teams!

The Vorpommern-Greifswald Football Association has exciting news to announce for the coming 2025/26 season. It starts on September 13th and 36 teams compete against each other in a total of three seasons. Eleven teams play in Season II, nine of which come from the Uecker-Randow region and are setting off to prove themselves in the district league. The anticipation for the games is growing because the teams have clearly defined goals that they want to achieve in the coming months.

How are the individual teams doing? The expectations are high, especially at SV Rot-Weiß Ahlbeck, which is now aiming for promotion after a runner-up finish last year. Coach Christian Lieck has put together a solid squad of 28 players, including four newcomers and only one departure. The team's captain, Paul Lieck, will lead the squad and is optimistic about the challenge ahead.

SV Züsedom also has great ambitions. The goal is to confirm or even improve on last season's 4th place. With 23 players in the squad, including three newcomers and just as many departures, coach Matthias Steinau leads the team, captained by Christian Kuschel.

• Blau-Weiß Leopoldshagen: Der Fokus liegt weniger auf dem Wettkampf, sondern vielmehr auf dem Überstehen der Saison. Aktuell hat das Team keinen Trainer, wird jedoch von Kapitän Markus Falk motiviert.
