A bizarre incident occurred on the night of Thursday, November 7th, on the B196 in Bergen auf Rügen. Federal police had targeted a BMW and wanted to check it. But what followed was anything but usual: the driver, a 20-year-old Syrian, fled from the police against all common sense.

At around 12:30 a.m. the young man tried to evade control. Despite a fleeting maneuver, the vehicle was found in a parking lot in Bergen-Süd with the support of the state police. The BMW was already disabled, but that wasn't the officers' primary concern.

Next to the car, it turned out that there was more than just the usual thrill waiting in the driver's luggage. When asked about the car key, the Syrian said he had sold the vehicle. But the police were skeptical and searched him. To their amazement, they found the key in his underpants! This immediately led to the seizure of the key and the license plate number of the vehicle.
