Stralsund celebrates 60th sundwimming: athletes, helpers and exciting records!

Stralsund, Deutschland - On July 5, Stralsund celebrated the anniversary edition of the Sundschwimmens, and the event was a complete success! Over 1,096 swimmers have faced the challenge, with impressive 1,086 of them successfully mastered the route. In bright weather, the event was supported by hundreds of volunteers who ensured that everything went smoothly. Their tasks ranged from the output of the participation documents to the care of the swimmers with hot tea and warming towels at the finish line.

Among the participants was Michael Mühle from Heidelberg, whose daughter was at the start of child-friendly swimming. The young generation demonstrated great fighting spirit: as part of the 23rd children's-friendly swimming erinal Alia Jahnke and Jakob Strauch, AK I, while Rieke Krüger and Tjark Meiners won the AK II. The list of award winners is impressive:

age group gender winner
AK I (10/11 years) female Alia Jahnke, Klara Pohsin, Hannah Holz

The great competition of adults

not enough! The 60th sund swimming also saw impressive performances. Tom Maron found himself as the winner when he covered the distance in 27.52 minutes. The oldest starter, Klaus-Dieter Droste, did not let himself be discouraged at the age of 85 and mastered the route after two hours and five minutes. Such stories remind you that swimming not only requires endurance but also heart.

Another sporty moment occurred when a 71-year-old swimmer had to be reanimated, but luckily was quickly accessible again. This shows how important the safety precautions that are taken by the helpers are to ensure the well -being of the swimmers during the event. a look back and forward

Ulf Schwarzer, the chief organizer of the event, can proudly look back on 25 years of sundwimming. Although he wants to withdraw something in the future, he will remain active in the background to maintain the tradition of swimming in Stralsund. The enthusiasm of the helpers and participants shows that sundwimming is firmly rooted in the hearts of people. Exciting competitions and numerous personal stories will also be told in the future.

In order to also celebrate the swimming events in other parts of Germany, swimming enthusiasts can visit the German vintage championships in Berlin from June 11th to 15th, where over 1,500 athletes compete against each other. germanaquatics.de offers free live streams for registered users, but also for this, but also for many other competitions in swimming.
