Jena, Deutschland - rita Bilal, a student of the Brandenburg University of Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB), has secured a remarkable place in the Federal Association of Dental Students in Germany e.V. (BDZM). On May 24, 2025, she was elected to the board during the Federal Conference (Bufata) in Jena, which is an important milestone for the student representation of dentistry. The event, which was organized by the student council of the University of Jena, recorded the participation of 31 representatives and almost 250 participants.
The new board of the BDZM, to which Rita Bilal will include as an auditor, is made up of five members and has formed for a two -year term. The BDZM acts as a umbrella organization of the student councils at 30 locations in Germany and represents the interests of around 15,000 students in the areas of dental, oral and maxillofacial medicine. The volunteers of the board have set themselves the goal of continuing the association work and promoting communication between the student councils. In addition, an information platform is to be built up and international cooperation is to be strengthened, which is of crucial importance in view of the increasing challenges in the study.
Central goals of the new board
The central challenges that the new board wants to face are the psychological and financial burdens that the study brings, as well as the implementation of the new license to license for dentists (AOZ) and the associated state examinations. The commitment of the new board members is considered crucial to find solutions for these pressing topics.
The Federal Association of Dental Students (BDZM), founded in 1990 and since 2005 as a non -profit association, has set itself the task of representing the interests of dentistry students in Germany. The information channels of the BDZM include the six-month federal conference, the quarterly association magazine "Dental Fresh" and the regularly sent e-mail newsletter "Up to Date". These formats should inform the members about current topics and developments.
status of the interest representation
The BDZM maintains close connections to important institutions such as the Federal Dentistry Association (BZÄK) and the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). These partnerships enable the association to effectively raise the voice of the students and to bring their concerns into relevant discussions. The involvement of Rita Bilal into the board is an important step to position the MHB in the nationwide student representation, and underlines the importance of student participation in dentistry.
With the election of Rita Bilal as a member of the BDZM board member, not only the MHB, but also the entire community of dentistry students is strengthened by gaining access to relevant information and resources and finding support for challenges in their studies. The choice is a positive signal for the future development and support of dentistry students at nationwide level.
