Motorcyclist seriously injured: frontal collision on the state road!
On Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2025, a serious motorcycle accident occurred on the state road between Heideck and Selingstadt in the district of Roth. At around 1:15 p.m., a 42-year-old motorcyclist was straight ahead in a right-hand bend and collided head-on with an oncoming car that was controlled by a 67-year-old woman. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and had to be flown to a clinic with a rescue helicopter. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The property damage amounts to around 10,000 euros for the motorcycle, which suffered total loss and 15,000 euros for the massively damaged car. The public prosecutor ordered the involvement of an expert to clarify the course of the accident. In addition, the state road was closed for several hours, which led to traffic disruptions. The fire brigades from Heideck and Selingstadt were on site to support the operational measures. This reports Infranken .
motorcycle accidents are a serious problem in Germany. The ADAC has found in various analyzes that motorcyclists have a four -time risk of accident than drivers. While regular security measures and technical progress contribute to avoiding accident, the disposal rate of motorcyclists is seven times higher than that of car drivers. It is particularly frightening that in 2021 motorcyclists made about 20 percent of the traffic fatalities and serious injuries. Although the total number of seriously injured motorcyclists has decreased since 2000, their share in the road dead increases continuously, as can be seen from the data of the Federal Statistical Office, which records over 500 fatal and almost 10,000 seriously injured motorcyclists annually. This information provides ADAC
causes of the accident and injury statistics
A detailed analysis of traffic accidents outside of towns shows that almost every fourth accident is a motorcycle accident. Over a third of these accidents are sole accidents, the most common causes of driving errors and excessive speed. Young drivers between the ages of 15 and 24 are particularly at risk, in which the seriousness of the injuries increases with age. The most common injuries that motorcyclists suffer from such accidents are traumatic brain trauma, thoracic trauma and injuries to the extremities. It is tragic that in collisions often the causes of accidents such as overtaking errors, unadjusted speed or insufficient distance play a role in collisions. These results were worked out by Autohaus
The ADAC recommends wearing protective clothing and regularly carrying out safety checks for motorcyclists and taking part in driving safety training. In addition, the drivers should drive forward and defensively to minimize the risk of an accident. Also technical solutions such as B. curve abs or dead angle assistant could help increase security on the streets and possibly prevent such tragic accidents. The motorcycle accident in Heideck again illustrates the dangers associated with driving a motorcycle and emphasizes the need for preventive measures.
