Munich is preparing for the Champions League final: Security in great time!
Fröttmaning, Deutschland - On Saturday, May 31st, the eagerly awaited Champions League final will take place in the Allianz Arena in Munich. The two major European clubs, Paris Saint-Germain from France and Inter Milan from Italy, compete against each other. The game of the game is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. and tens of thousands of fans are expected who will travel from both Germany and the rest of Europe. The local authorities have prepared comprehensively for the event to ensure security and a smooth process.
The federal police have declared that it is well equipped for the journey of the fans. Around 2,000 civil servants who will be in action on the day of the game are positioned. These security forces are also composed of support units of the Bavarian riot police. Particular attention is paid to public transport, where a Franco-German unity with around 250 civil servants will provide security.
extensive security measures
In view of the previous experiences with violent reactions of PSG fans at defeats, the police classified the Champions League final as a high-risk game. Among other things, measures include mobile and firm locks in the most important arrival areas. In addition, a flight restriction area around the arena was enacted to guarantee the security in the airspace, and specific requirements for radio communication and transponders within a radius of 12 nautical miles. The Munich Transport Society (MVG) advises to travel to the arena early, as some stops, including Odeonsplatz and Königsplatz, are not served during the events. Instead, an increased subway offer is guaranteed to bring the storm flightlers to the stadium. It is particularly important to refer to the Munich team not to travel to the city center by car in order to avoid traffic problems.
fan festivities and public viewing
As part of the Champions Finale, there are numerous events organized for fans and spectators. The "Champions Festival" in the Olympic Park begins on Thursday, May 29, and offers live concerts and various activities for visitors. The popular public viewing events take place, among other things, on Lake Olympia, where up to 23,000 places are available. This event is scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and admission is free.
Special meeting points are set up for the fan areas: Inter Milan fans meet at Odeonsplatz, while the supporters of Paris Saint-Germain are expected at Königsplatz. From 11 a.m. these areas open their gates with the appropriate entertainment, eating and drinking. A pleasant atmosphere is ensured, even if some localities, such as the Hofbräuhaus, do not offer the game transmissions, but expect a large fan volume. The cooperation between the security forces and the organizers already shows positive signs, while the city of Munich is preparing for a football festival that should not only be an unforgettable experience for all citizens, but for all citizens. The preparations and the associated requirements are part of a larger security concept that aims to offer both the visitors and the locals a safe and pleasant experience.
