The Turkish music landscape has grown! The new television channel Yildiz TV has been on the air since today, July 4, 2025. The name “Yildiz”, which means “star”, says it all, as the station is entirely dedicated to Turkish music and presents large bands as well as a variety of instrumental sounds. The station's logo features a bright blue star, which is intended to symbolize the greatness of Turkish music. How Ruhr24 reported, the program is completely free and can be received without subscriptions.

Yildiz TV is distributed via DVB-S satellite technology and broadcasts in a standard image quality of 720 x 576 pixels. The channel has found its place on the Türksat 4A satellite at 42 degrees East and thus reaches not only Turkey, but also the Turkish population in Germany. What is interesting is that the signal strength of Yildiz TV is 4.5 decibels weaker than other programs on the same satellite position.

Reception conditions

To receive the new channel, a satellite dish with a diameter of at least 90 cm is required; Even a 1 meter antenna would be ideal. Smaller antennas will not be sufficient for stable reception, which could pose a small challenge for the technology-savvy viewers. Yildiz TV broadcasts on transponder 21L with a frequency of 12.422 GHz and vertical polarization. The symbol rate is 27,500 and the error correction is 3/4. Loud KingofSat Older DVB-S receivers are also able to receive the program as long as the antenna is large enough.

The Turkish media landscape is particularly active at the moment. How Sat index notes, there are currently 304 Turkish TV programs available, which underlines the diversity of the selection. Numerous channels can be found especially on Türksat 42.0° East, 182 of which are free to receive. Yildiz TV will thus become part of an extensive network of Turkish channels, which could also leave room for many new formats.
