Large raid against ATM sprinkles: 18 arrests in NRW!

In the spectacular access against an international group of perpetrators, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), State Criminal Police Office North Rhine-Westphalia (LKA NRW) and the Dutch police have achieved a total of 18 arrests in connection with ATM blast. The raids, supported by Europol, took place in May 2025 as part of several coordinated days of operation and led to the arrest of five alleged members who mainly come from the Netherlands.

The criminals organized by the gangs had focused on poorly secured ATMs in Germany, causing damage in the millions. They captured around 1.2 million euros with targeted explosions. The police also confiscated cash of over 290,000 euros and a crypto wallet worth over 600,000 euros, which was presumably used for money laundering. The investigation is part of a comprehensive international “Joint Investigation Team” that has been active since April 2024.
