Fire station in Hollen: Challenges and new standards announced

In the municipality of Beverstedt, the focus is currently on significant decisions regarding the future of the fire brigade. The administration and the municipal command have drawn up changes to the fire protection statute, which aims at new quality levels in the training of the young fire brigade and adapting the rank names to the fire brigade regulation. The fire protection committee unanimously recommended that these changes make the course for an improved fire brigade structure. At the same time, the construction of a fire station in Hollen is on the agenda, about which the deputy municipal fire chief Adrian Schnaars reported. Here, detailed changes are considered on the plan, while the basic planning is considered satisfactory.

At the planning status, however, concerns were expressed. The district has registered objections due to excessive buildings and the arrangement of separate entrances and exits on the district road. Committee member Volker Bauermeister (FDP) referred to the requirements of the fire brigade regulation, and an on -site appointment is planned to find solutions for the problems mentioned. A particularly positive proposal is the use of training rooms, a kitchen and toilets for the village community.

New emergency vehicle and construction progress

Justine Brandt was able to present news from fire brigade planning. On June 11, the Appeln fire brigade will pick up a new emergency vehicle in Dissen. On the other hand, the delivery of an LF 10 for Heästedt is delayed until spring 2027. In addition, the construction of the tool shed is in Appeln in the final phase, in which the insulation, the screed and the installed PV system pass into the external work.

The planning standards for fire brigade houses are also revised, such as "https://www.feuertrutz.de/normeiheihe-din-14092-zu-feuerwehrhaeusern-ueberproh-02052024"> Feuertrutz.de . The series of standards 14092, which determines important planning bases for fire station, will be updated in June 2024. These standards are crucial because fire brigade houses are critical infrastructures, the functionality of which must also be guaranteed under extreme environmental conditions. In particular, aspects such as spatial programs, dimensions and specific risk potential must be taken into account when planning.

health and security standards

The planning of these facilities must correspond to the requirements of the DGUV regulation 205-008 "Security in the fire station". This is currently being revised to meet the requirements of the new DIN 14092. Firefighters differ significantly in their structural requirements from other municipal buildings. Risks, such as the dangers of too small parking space or inadequate traffic routes, minimize risks.

The responsibility for compliance with provisions of occupational safety law lies with the building owner, since the building supervisory authorities issue permits in NRW without involving the occupational safety authorities. Architects have to make sure that the later user of the fire brigade houses is not the client, which is given special attention in the planning phase.

With these developments, the municipality of Beverstedt faces the challenge of creating a modern and powerful fire brigade infrastructure that meets future requirements. The continuous adaptation and optimization of the planning basics is essential.
