Aschen celebrates: Michael Busack will be the new rifle king!

On Ascension Day, June 3, 2025, the Schützenverein Aschen celebrated its big festival, in which Michael Busack was proclaimed as a new rifle king. At his side is Queen Christina. The adjutants include Holger Fohring, Christian Brebeck and Patrick Paradiek. The honorary ladies are Sonja Fohring, Nathalie Brebeck and Carina Paradiek. Vice King Max Schlarmann is expanding the royal family, while Rick Culpan's imperial shooting was won. The Schützenliesel, Manuela Hülsemann, was also chosen, supported by the honorary ladies Sandra Kirchhoff-Trimpe and Anne Koester.

The crowning glory of youth and children was particularly noteworthy. Paula Diekmann and Markus Nierentz emerged as a youth queen and prince, while Lina Jung and Kilian König provided the children's queen and the children's prince. They accompanied their adjutants, Adrian Kirchhof and Carla Maria Rotunjeanu, as well as the honorary ladies Marie Koester and Elisa Paradiek during the celebrations.

Review and the new royal house

In his speech, President Henning Paradiek paid tribute to the past king year and welcomed the delegations from the rifle associations of the area, including a delegation from the twin city of Starogard Gdanski, which was represented with gift bags with a Polish imprint. The outgoing King Holger Kirchhoff held a look back at his year and the numerous events.

The new chapel "Ashener Marschmusik" celebrated its premiere at the march, which also framed the festival. The other highlights included the applause that TSV Aschen II, master of the second district class, received. The festival not only included the proclamation of new dignitaries, but was also all about community and tradition.

rifle festivals in Germany and the surrounding area

shooting festivals are an important part of German culture, with over 15,000 shooting clubs. They usually take place in the spring and summer months and last several days. The process is often similar to that in ashes, with feasts, competitions and festive moves, in which the king and queen are honored in a solemn setting. This tradition goes back to the Middle Ages and has developed over the years. Many shooting clubs, as well as the Schützenverein Nordlünen Alstedde, who starts with his bird shooting on June 8, also prepare for their festivals after the restrictions of the Corona years made many events impossible in 2020 and 2021

For 2023, the celebrations in Lünen are well planned again. The diverse activities of the various clubs, including services, proclamations and parades ensure that relevant traditions are also lived and not forgotten in the region. A sign that shooting festivals are still an integral part of social life.

All of this confirms that the shooting festivals are not only an appointment in the calendar, but a lively tradition that is celebrated across generations. As all-schuetzenvereine.de , they offer space for community and celebrating cultural roots that can be found in many German cities. This makes the shooting festival in ashes and many others an experience that brings people together every year and keeps culture alive.
