Drunk drivers flee from the police: Witnesses urgently wanted!

on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025, the police were called to a parking lot of a discounter in Mannheimer Strasse, where two aggressive, drunk men mobbed customers. When the police arrived and wanted to stop the fleeing van, this gas and raced gave it at an excessive speed. During the chase, the driver endangered a pedestrian on a dirt road before the van was finally discovered - but without occupants.

By searching with a police dog, the officials were able to find the two men, a 51-year-old and a 42-year-old, hidden in a bush. The passenger attacked the dog and was then slightly injured. It turned out that the driver had recently hit a man in the parking lot. His alcohol value was over 2 per mille. Now he has to answer for multiple offenses, including road hazards and suspicion of a forbidden race. The Bad Dürkheim police are looking for witnesses, in particular the man and an endangered pedestrian to get further information.
