In the night from Friday to Saturday, a devastating fire broke out in a single -family house in Zeven, which has been empty for years, which put the fire brigades from Zeven, Brauel, Brüttendorf, Badenstedt and Heeslingen alarm. When the emergency services arrived, the building was already in full fire, but no human life was in danger because the house was uninhabited. The fire brigade quickly set up several bar positions to protect adjacent buildings from the fire and to prevent spread.

Despite the quick intervention, it could not be prevented that the building was significantly damaged. Together with the owner, the fire brigade decided to order the demolition of the house because the gable were at risk of collapse. Around 100 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the embers and maintain fire protection. During the extinguishing work, the B71 was blocked by the authorities while the police initiated the investigation into the cause of the fire.
