At full throttle against the emergency: Braunschweig practices a large alarm!
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Braunschweig police successfully carried out a large -scale exercise. Together with the city of Braunschweig, the fire brigade and the emergency services, a scenario was simulated that included a large number of injuries in a crisis situation. The aim of the exercise was to further optimize the cooperation between the various authorities and to improve the processes in an emergency.
Uwe Lange, police vice president of the Braunschweig police department, praised the flawless cooperation of everyone involved: "The emergency services worked hand in hand with high professionalism. All gears interlocked precisely." City Councilor Dr. Tobias Pollmann, responsible for the fire brigade, emphasized the importance of today's training, in which a operational concept for terrorist and amo lawsuits was tested for the first time. "We hope that we never have to experience such a scenario," he said. The exercise has shown that the concept works.
