On Friday evening, June 5, a serious traffic accident occurred at around 8:36 p.m. on the A2 motorway in the direction of Hanover, just before the motorway tunnel. A car collided with a traffic safety trailer and its towing vehicle, with the heavily damaged vehicle being pushed under a truck.

When the Gelsenkirchen fire brigade arrived, the driver of the car had already been looked after by first aiders. The man suffered serious injuries in the accident. Under the use of hydraulic rescue equipment, an emergency opening was created in the vehicle in order to free it in a patient -friendly manner. The seriously injured driver was then immediately transported to the Kliniken Gelsenkirchen Buer. A total of 40 emergency services of the fire and rescue guards and the volunteer fire brigade were deployed.
