Silver diplomas for the 2000 vintage: ceremony in Clausthal presented success!

Clausthal, Deutschland - On May 26, 2025, a remarkable alumni day took place at the Technical University of Clausthal, which celebrated the graduates of the 2000 graduates. University President Dr.-Ing. Sylvia Schattauer opened the ceremony in which over 100 participants, including 50 jubilees, from all over Germany and Saudi Arabia took part in order to accept their silver diplomas. The solemn occasion offered a platform to exchange memories and to strengthen the personal connection to the university.

During the event, Prof. Jens Traupe paid tribute that the 2000 year was the first to study in two centuries. Gertrud Gayer, former head of the examination office, looked back at the university for 72 semesters and remembered a student from Madagascar with a 24 letter long name. Tim Bartels from ASTA honored the graduates for their contribution to the good reputation of the university, while Dr.-Ing. Karola Kanzler highlighted the personal atmosphere and the numerous friendships that were created during their studies.

Prof. Daniel Goldmann gave the lecture in which he highlighted the role of the TU Clausthal as the engine of the Circular Economy. Imran Khaliq Butt, graduate from Dubai, emphasized his deep connection to the university. Many of the graduates also reported that they had met their great love at the university. Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Maiwald and Ugur Cakir are still regular in Clausthal while Dr.-Ing. Andreas Lindermeir has remained loyal to his region and is active at the Cutec Research Center.

After the ceremony, a champagne reception followed with a snack, which offered the participants the opportunity to exchange information. The comprehensive supporting program included visits to institutes and cultural offers, which impressively conveyed the alumni the feeling that Clausthal is sitting deep in the heart.
