Mut tour in Delmenhorst: Public campaign on mental health!

On Friday, June 6, 2025, the Mut-Tour takes place in Delmenhorst, an initiative of the self-help organization "promote" courage that aims to increase the visibility of mental illnesses and to create a better understanding of mental health. The event, which is supported by various local organizations, begins at 10 a.m. on Rathausplatz, where various facilities and self -help groups will build information stands. Visitors have the opportunity to take part in planned hands-on activities and to learn more about mental illnesses that are widespread according to the Robert Koch Institute and can have serious consequences for the quality of life and social participation.

The MUT Tour, which has brought people together with and without experiences of depression since 2012, promote the goal of reducing prejudices and enabling the exchange between affected people and relatives. The gentle sports offers that are part of the program should encourage and set an example against the stigmatization of mental illnesses. The event ends in the early afternoon after the participants returned from a public bike tour.

In addition, the Mut-Tour team is expected around 11:30 a.m., followed by a bike tour that starts at 12:30 p.m. under the direction of the ADFC Delmenhorst. Interested parties can take their own bike and cycle a piece of the way.

The topic of mental health is of enormous importance: impairments range from slight restrictions to serious mental disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders or addiction. These problems are not only individual challenges, but also have social effects that require a broad public discourse to create more awareness and support.

The event is carried out in cooperation with numerous partners, including chain e. V., the social psychiatric service of the city of Delmenhorst and the Delmenhorster Institute for Health Promotion. Participation in all activities is free of charge and possible without prior registration, so that all citizens are invited to actively participate.
