The voters have been called up since 8 a.m. to give up their vote. In a political environment that is shaped by the high presence of the AfD, this electoral system could lead to significant changes.

In the district of Mecklenburg Seenplatte, AfD candidate Enrico Schult, who received 36.1 percent of the vote in the first ballot, is against CDU politician Thomas Müller, who obtained 27 percent of the vote. Müller, currently Vizelandrat, strives to take over the management of the district. Here you will find Nico Klose (independent), who was able to win 35.7 percent of the votes in the first ballot, and Frank Benischke from the CDU, who received 24.6 percent. All voters must live in the electoral area for at least 37 days or have their habitual stay there in order to be able to take part in the election. In view of these requirements, the question arises as to how many citizens will actually use their right to vote.
