Glossy award: UGV funding prices 2025 awarded at the University of Vechta!

On June 5, 2025, the UGV funding prices were awarded 2025 at the University of Vechta, which distinguished outstanding theses. At a ceremony in the music hall of the university, around 80 guests welcomed the ceremony, in which the academic achievements of the students were recognized. Among those present were Bartels, the former chairman of the UGV, and treasurer Pekeler, who emphasized the importance of the exchange between the Region and the university. In her acceptance speech, Prof.in Dr.in Meike Grüßing praised the support of the UGV and the role of the supervisors of this work.

Interim President Prof. Dr. Thomas Bals dealt with the financial challenges that influence the university and emphasized the importance of the award ceremony to increase the attractiveness of the campus. The excellent work was recognized with certificates and then there was a drink that offered the guests the opportunity to exchange ideas.

In addition, Matthis Robke received the special prize for his work "The importance of sustainability in the meat industry: a stakeholder analysis" (economy and ethics).

The University of Vechta not only promotes the services of its students through awards such as the UGV promotion award, but also supports various competitions. For example, the “Clever Heads Made in Weser-Ems” competition is advertised, which awarded the thesis on the field of action in the Energy Master Plan. This is about topics such as renewable energy generation and acceptance for (renewable) energies. Up to three works are awarded up to 1,500 euros. Other initiatives, such as the Young Award Academics, are also offered to promote young scientists up to 35 years, whereby a prize money of 5,000 euros is in prospect, as uni-vechta.de
