Fire brigade saves seven cats from infernal apartment fire!

On the night of May 31, a devastating fire on the ground floor of an apartment building on Regentenstrasse broke out at 02:03 a.m. When the fire brigade arrived, the affected apartment was already on fire. Fortunately, four residents from the upper floors were able to escape over the staircase in good time. But not only human lives were in danger: the fire brigade saved seven cats from the smoking apartment before suffocation.

The damage caused by smoke and fire are enormous, which is why the fire apartment is currently uninhabitable. The affected resident was housed in an emergency accommodation by the Mönchengladbach social welfare office. Several units of the fire brigade, including the fire and rescue station I as well as the volunteer fire brigade and an ambulance with an emergency doctor, were deployed. Ba Christian Küppers was operational manager.
